NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes live text for Sunday's games on various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six of the NFL season and following recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their perfect starts.

Notable in those games were the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it was good to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with CB their star corner. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not always sending more than four defenders instead they might position two LBs in the interior before drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said on a program that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished last season strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New TE Evan Engram has excelled big and new RB their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver represent a team that wants to run first, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in favourable situations.

This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass anywhere, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, being able to throw on the run, and finding varied release points to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and is not bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to stay in play for longer, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense must defend the field downfield side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. He can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

The head coach has won a championship and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they good enough to face an elite team at its best? Because that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working above average, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key is to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win any game.

Since the league started recording turnovers in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the West.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face because Denver {beat|def
