Militiamen chuckle as they travel on the rear of a pick-up truck, hurrying by a series of multiple dead bodies and heading in the direction of the setting African evening sky.

"Look at this extensive work. Look at this genocide," a combatant exclaims.

The individual beams as he turns the camera on himself and his associate fighters, their RSF badges clearly shown: "They will all be killed like this."

The combatants are celebrating a massacre that humanitarian officials suspect resulted in the deaths of over 2,000 people in the African city of el-Fasher during October.

A City Isolated from the Globe

Having held the urban area under siege for approximately an extended period, from late summer the militia advanced to strengthen its dominance and restrict the surviving residents.

Orbital photography demonstrate that troops commenced to erect a massive berm - a elevated sand barrier - surrounding the perimeter of el-Fasher, blocking roads and halting aid.

While the blockade worsened, 78 people were murdered in an paramilitary assault on a place of worship on September 19th, while the international organization stated fifty-three additional were killed in drone and artillery bombardments on a makeshift community in fall.

Graphic Footage Shows Defenseless Civilians Executed

At dawn on 26 October the RSF overwhelmed the last government defenses and seized the primary headquarters in the community, the main facility of the 6th Infantry Division, as the government forces pulled back.

One of the most horrific recordings to appear and examined revealed the aftermath of a mass killing at a university building on the western of the city, where dozens dead bodies were observed spread throughout the ground.

An elderly individual wearing a traditional garment sat by himself amid the bodies. The individual rotated to look as a militiaman carrying with a firearm walked along the steps in the direction of the victim. Raising his rifle, the fighter released a solitary shot at the individual, who collapsed to the floor lifeless.

"For what reason is this one yet living," another combatant cried. "Kill him."

Space-based imagery recorded on 26 October appeared to confirm that shootings were also conducted on the roads of al-Fashir, based on a study published by the academic research center.

One witness who provided testimony said they had observed "many of our relatives being killed - the victims were gathered in a specific area and each one eliminated."

RSF Commanders Try to Carry Out Damage Control

In the days that came after the massacre, RSF leader admitted that his fighters had committed "atrocities" and announced the occurrences would be investigated.

Part of the apprehended was following a report documenting his murders. Carefully orchestrated and produced footage shared on the militia's formal social media platform show the commander being taken into a prison room at a prison on the perimeter of al-Fashir.

Simultaneously, the militia and associated online profiles started trying to reframe the story.

Content presenting its militiamen distributing aid to residents were circulated by various individuals, while the militia's communications team shared several recordings claiming to demonstrate the proper handling of government detainees.

Regardless of the digital initiative being deployed by the militia, their conduct in al-Fashir have provoked international condemnation.
