Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.
However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
