Information on the Devastating Event
US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.
Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.
Gatherings across the state have taken place in their memory.
Presidential Call
The commander-in-chief stated heâs discussed a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.
âI said: âWhen youâre ready, because thatâs a hard experience, come to the White House. Weâre going to honor Sarah,â Trump addressed reporters. âAnd in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.â
Public Reaction
Mourners came together over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.
Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of Trumpâs federal initiative to aid public safety in Washington DC.
Paying Tribute to the Soldier
âSarah was the type of pupil that educators desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,â Hankins, the head of her alma mater, told the media. âShe was kind, compassionate and always willing to assist people.â
Service arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.
Judicial Measures and Government Changes
Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and charges of violent assault while armed.
The event led the government to suspend asylum processing and cease issuing visas to owners of Afghan passports.
Status of Andrew Wolfe
The airman, a native of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the Associated Press.
He remains under medical supervision and is âin a critical fightâ, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey said on a news program.
Attorney general the attorney general informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to meet with Wolfeâs family.
Impact of Beckstrom
Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, according to the West Virginia National Guard.
âShe had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,â Morrisey addressed the gathering at the vigil. âThough her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact thatâs going to be remembered always.â
